XHFM-FM (Mexico City) : ウィキペディア英語版 | XHFM-FM (Mexico City) XHFM-FM was a radio station in Mexico City, broadcasting on 94.1 FM. It was the first FM radio station in Mexico,〔(CIRT Historia )〕 operating from 1952 to 1957. ==History== The concession for XHFM was awarded on December 28, 1948 to Federico Obregón Cruces, and it began test transmissions in 1949. In 1952, it came on air officially, broadcasting with 3 kW of power and using the name "Radio Joya". The station closed on June 26, 1957, as its facilities were destroyed by an earthquake. (The Radio Joya name would return in Mexico City when unrelated XEJP-FM signed on in 1974.) The 94.1 frequency would not be used in Mexico City for more than 50 years, until UAM Radio built five 20-watt transmitters on the frequency.
